Lobster tail helmet used by Royalists and Parliament soldiers alike. Paintings of Cromwell show him to favour this style helmet with tip up visor and 3 bar face guard. Leather washers still remain in this Civil War helmet though the ear flap leather has been faithfully replaced keeping the most of the original rivets. A fine example of English 17th century armour. These 3 bar English made helmets are very scarce and sought after for Civil War collectors.
