Description
Possible pre colonial Assegai with cow hide binding. This Assegai has all the signs of being a very early Assegai with a long hand forged spear point and sharpened cutting edges. The cow hide binding is rock hard from ageing.Traces of cow hair is present.The shaft hasn’t got the traditional flare at the butt suggesting this was a throwing spear as well as a stabbing Assegai.
